Anomaly scan on Friday 11.20am which I’m looking forward to. Wriggler continues to wriggle throughout the day and has even been visible from the outside! My husband has been able to feel wriggles and kicks too which is so nice. My bump is extremely pronounced – I was asked yesterday just how many cushions I had tucked up my t-shirt!! But another colleague declared it to be a neat bump which is a good thing. I’ll dig out the tape measure in a minute and see how big it really is – certainly there’s no doubting I’m pregnant. I can’t help but wonder how huge I’d be if we still had the triplets, or even the twins… probably about to split I should think. I’m still slathering on the body butter and oils in the hope of minimising stretch marks and touch wood, it’s working so far… My daughter likes to help rub in the cream after my shower, and delights in the fact that ‘baby likes it’.

Sad news on the Bounty web forum. A girl from Due In July who I’ve chatted to a couple of times via the boards was expecting twins and had concerns about having them early as she’d delivered her son last year at 23wks. Well, lo and behold, she says she had the babies at 23.+3 days weighing 1lb and the other 1lb 2oz – one is on a ventilator and one is on CPAC? I’m not sure what that means but we were all pleased that her babies seemed to be fighters and that the doctors ‘intervened’ (often they don’t until 24wks minimum). However a few days later, threads started to appear suggesting this girl is a serial liar and has been banned from several other parenting boards for telling lies. Apparently she doesn’t have any children, prem or otherwise, plays hockey and goes by three different surnames. Whether this is true or not, it’s left me feeling really unsettled – if she’s genuine, then how distressing to hear all the horrible bitchy comments that have come up. On the other hand, if she is making it all up, it’s really not funny, in fact it would suggest to me that she needs psychiatric help. I don’t know what to believe and wish I could shake off the uncomfortable feeling it’s left me with.

Bump update – measuring 103cm today!! That’s over a metre 😀

Oh, and the indigestion/heartburn or virus or whatever it was appears to have gone. Hurray!

At least the waiting is over. Period arrived with a vengeance very late last night so I guess today is technically CD2, but what the hey?! Someone over on the Bounty forums mentioned the ‘Sperm meets egg plan’ which sounds like a good, errr, plan – so long as we can maintain the stamina required for all that “trying” ;-p

Fertile dates this time around should be 23rd – 30th Oct (should ov on 29th) and we’re looking for a BFP (big fat positive) pregnancy test on 12th or 13th Nov. Fingers crossed for a successful (and fun!) month ahead.

Feeling down Wednesday 10 October 2007

This is so much worse than the first time around when we just stopped using condoms. It was only the strange metallic taste and nausea that made me check dates and I did a test as I realised I was a couple of days late. This time, I know when I ovulated, when we did it, what cycle day (CD) it is, what tests are considered ‘good’ for early testing etc etc. This has been the longest 2 weeks ever I swear. I’m driving myself insane with testing (even though it’s probably way too early but I have lots of ultra early tests, and now a First Response Early Result) and reading pregnancy signs into every ache, feeling etc. These are more than likely just pre menstrual symptoms and period will turn up bang on time 14th Oct 😦 What’s really crazy is this is the first bout of ‘trying’ and already I’m feeling down about it and feeling like it’s not happened this month. The month isn’t even out yet!! I guess it happened so easily with our daughter…

Over at the Bounty forums it’s like exquisite torture. Supportive yet also obsessive – I find myself desperate for answers that really no-one can give me. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone though, there are plenty of ladies just like me who are driving themselves crazy with the famous 2ww (two week wait, from ov to due period date). Currently all signs point to a bfn (big fat negative) result, and a most unwelcome period, to go through it all again next month. But, then again, the nausea and odd taste have reared their heads over the last two days, so who knows. I’m definitely going to hold back from testing until Friday, then Sunday or even Monday – obviously no need to if period shows up.

Testing, testing Tuesday 25 September 2007

As expected, only a single line today. Feels exciting to be on this stage though, this month has dragged on and on. I’ve already succumbed to the wretched http://www.bounty.com forums, although I’m only reading them rather than getting involved (yet!).

Have completely given up on basal temperature taking – which is a bit crap isn’t it?! Oh well, hopefully my cycle will stay nice and steady and the testing strips will be enough.

On a completely unrelated topic – what is with the cadbury’s chocolate ad with the gorilla??? Very disturbing if you ask me, it almost puts me off chocolate. Almost.
